Job Title: Community Engagement and Events Coordinator

Reports to: Executive Director / Programs Team

Compensation: Competitive hourly pay ($20-30/hour), commensurate with experience.

Classification: Part-time (~20 hrs/week) with potential for growth as programs expand.

Location: Boise, ID preferred (flexible within Idaho), hybrid/remote with in-person event days required.

Idaho Wildlife Federation (IWF) is Idaho’s oldest conservation organization dedicated to conserving wildlife, wild places, and our hunting and fishing heritage. We work across the state to bring sportsmen and women together around habitat conservation, public lands, wildlife connectivity, and education - building a strong, united voice for Idaho’s outdoors.

Position Overview

Idaho Wildlife Federation is seeking a part-time Community Engagement & Events Coordinator to help plan, organize, and execute a growing slate of events across the state. This role will play a key part in launching IWF’s inaugural Wild Game Cookoffs - including major events in the Treasure Valley and Coeur d’Alene - as well as supporting fundraising events, hunting and fishing education programs, speaker events, and community gatherings.

This position is ideal for someone who is deeply passionate about hunting, fishing, and conservation, enjoys working with volunteers, and is energized by bringing people together around shared values.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Planning & Execution

  • Coordinate planning and logistics for IWF events, including:

    • Wild Game Cookoffs

    • Fundraising and donor events

    • Hunting and fishing education programs

    • Speaker series, film nights, and community gatherings

  • Support venue selection, timelines, run-of-show planning, and on-site event execution

  • Assist with vendor, sponsor, and partner coordination

Volunteer & Committee Coordination

  • Work closely with volunteer committees supporting major events

  • Help recruit, organize, and communicate with volunteers

  • Support committee meetings, task tracking, and follow-through

Community Engagement

  • Serve as a friendly, professional point of contact for members, volunteers, partners, and the broader sporting community

  • Help strengthen IWF’s presence at events and within Idaho’s hunting and fishing community

  • Support outreach to partner organizations and local sporting groups

General Support

  • Assist with post-event follow-up, documentation, and basic reporting

  • Coordinate with IWF staff to ensure events align with organizational goals and messaging

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong passion for hunting, fishing, and wildlife conservation is required

  • Experience planning or supporting events (nonprofit, community, outdoor, or fundraising events a plus)

  • Comfortable working with volunteers and diverse stakeholders

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for events

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Idaho as needed

Preferred (but not required)

  • Experience with conservation, outdoor, or sporting organizations

  • Familiarity with Idaho’s hunting and fishing community

  • Experience working with volunteer committees

  • Basic comfort with tools like Google Workspace, spreadsheets, and project tracking
