Two New Ways to Get Involved

We are excited to open two new avenues for volunteers who want to support conservation, sporting traditions, and community-driven work across the state! Whether you’re interested in lending a hand at events or helping shape conversations around sportsmen-led policy and access, we’d love to have you involved.

1. Join the IWF Advisory Board

We are building a volunteer Advisory Board made up of hunters, anglers, and conservation-minded individuals from across Idaho. This group will provide regional insight and help strengthen our work statewide. The Advisory Board will help us:

  • Gather on-the-ground perspectives from hunters and anglers across Idaho

  • Build a stronger network of skilled volunteers

  • Assist with at least one IWF event or initiative each year

  • Identify future leaders who may be a good fit for the full IWF Board down the road

Advisory Board members will meet virtually once a month with the IWF team and serve an initial two-year term (with flexibility, since this is an advisory role). We are especially interested in representation from every region of the state. Meetings will be scheduled for weekday evenings.

2. Volunteer for Wild Game Cook-Off Events

We are also building volunteer teams for our Wild Game Cook-Off series launching in 2026. These events will take place in the Treasure Valley and North Idaho (near CDA), and we are seeking volunteers who can help bring them to life. Tasks will include participating in virtual planning meetings, helping with event logistics, identifying and recruiting sponsors, promotion and outreach, and/or day-of event support.

Experience is not required, but any event or volunteer background is welcome and helpful as we build out our teams.

Ready to get involved?

If either (or both!) of these opportunities sound like a good fit, we’d love to hear from you. Please email our Communications Coordinator at jstetter@idahowildlife.org with a brief description of:

  • Your background, interests, and relative experience

  • Where you are located in Idaho

  • Whether you’re interested in the Advisory Board, the Wild Game Cook-Off events, or both. Subject line should read “YourLastName - Events or Advisory Board
