News
At IWF, we’re committed to sharing timely, educational updates that help you speak up for the conservation issues you care about most. Whether it’s policy news, wildlife and habitat insights, or stories about public access across Idaho, our goal is to strengthen an outdoor community united by common goals and shared passions.
Reducing Catastrophic Wildfire Risk in Southwest Idaho
IWF has invested years into collaboratives like the Payette Forest Coalition and remains committed to bringing diverse stakeholders together to see a healthier Forest for humans and wildlife. Over the next 5 years, almost $60 million will be put on the ground in Southwest Idaho to treat 20-35% of the landscape through a combination of thinning, controlled burning, and post-treatment restoration.
