This month the Idaho Wildlife Federation flew to Washington D.C. to meet with our members of Congress about issues important to the health of our fish and wildlife and advocated for the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act (HR 4647).

As a result, Representative Mike Simpson agreed to become a cosponsor of the bill after hearing about the positive impacts the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act would have on Idaho’s fish and wildlife. He’s in good company having joined 31 Republicans and 39 Democratic House members. This bill has quickly become one of the most bipartisan and substantial natural resource bills introduced in this Congress.

IWF has been working for nearly two years on this bill with Idaho sportsman groups, familiarizing it with our congressional delegates.  It has been endorsed by over 1,000 conservation groups, sporting groups, and businesses nationwide, including many in Idaho led by IWF. This really is big news- a testament to the “boots on the ground” work the Federation is performing to unite Idaho sportsman groups and effectively deliver that voice to our decision makers to implement positive policy. It’s also a great example of the trajectory of the Federation and the growing influence of sportsmen.

We are proud to advocate for this bill and for Idaho. You can count on the Idaho Wildlife Federation to always give our fish and wildlife a voice in our state and nation’s capital.  #IWFshowsup
