Opportunity to Comment On new Idaho Big Game Season Proposals Begins Feb. 8

Since the voter initiative in 1938 where an independent Fish and Game commission was established and that autonomous commission began to manage wildlife based on science according to the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation, sportsmen around the Gem State have been part of a partnership. Opportunities like season setting public comment periods - while not always the most glorious - are a crucial contribution to sportsmen’s half of a partnership that has led to Idaho being a world renowned big game icon.

Idaho Wildlife Federation encourages sportsmen across Idaho to join Idaho Fish and Game staff at select locations beginning February 8th to review proposed seasoned big game seasons for deer, elk, pronghorn, black bear, wolf and mountain lions.

You will be able to view season proposals on each respective Idaho Fish and Game region’s big game season setting webpage. Proposals are expected to be posted midweek during the first week of February, and the comment period will run through Feb. 22 at idfg.idaho.gov/comment.

This is an opportunity to share your experience. This is an opportunity to close gaps in misunderstanding as well as celebrate and share successes in a professional but very personal way.
